Answers to Your Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the Cannon Falls Education Foundation?
The Cannon Falls Education Foundation, established in 1993, is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide funds to enhance the educational environment in the Cannon Falls Public Schools. The Foundation works closely with the School Board, the Superintendent, teachers and members of the community to support the District's programs and services.

What type of programs does the CFEF fund?
The purpose of Cannon Falls Education Foundation is to  fund programs that enhance the educational environment of school district #252.

Everyone has different interests, skills, and aptitudes. This fact is no more evident than in our children.  As parents, teachers and neighbors, we need to find ways to engage kids in productive learning.  Our programs help each child expand their passion for learning. The projects we fund are meant to pique the interest of our students and develop well-rounded young adults.

Here are some examples of projects aimed at these goals:
Music:  Steel Drums and Keyboards
Science and Technology:  Lego Robots and Microscopes
Personal Achievement / Team Building:  Eagle Bluff and Rock Climbing
Lifelong Skills:  House Building Project and Women's Self Defense
Arts:  Pottery Equipment, Louvre Exhibit and Christmas Carol performances

What percentage of a contribution goes to programs?
For the CFEF, we're very pleased to give this answer when soliciting local businesses and community members. Thanks to a dedicated, 10-15 member, 100% volunteer board,  98% of our fundraising is channeled directly in support of teacher-requested projects for the students of Cannon Falls.

How does the CFEF award funds?
Each year, teachers are invited to submit applications for projects and programs for the school district. The applications are signed by the Principal and Superintendent before they are submitted to our Program committee. The Program committee in turn evaluates the requests before submitting them to the full Foundation board for approval.
