Program Components



  • A before school workshop for all staff new to the district and their mentors.
  • Weekly meetings of mentors and mentees at least the first month of school
  • Quarterly meetings with the mentor coordinator. These meetings will focus on specific information or skills that fit the needs of the mentees.
  • Observations. The mentor and mentor coordinator will conduct observations of non-tenured staff. Mentees are encouraged to observe their mentor as well as other teachers. Each observation will be followed with a conference to discuss the observations. The mentor coordinator is available to period sub for mentors and mentees to facilitate observations.
  • Mentors and mentees are encouraged to communicate on a regular basis.
