Seventh grade STEM class finished up their coding unit by constructing bridges in which they could drive over their coded Sphero Bolts. 💻🤔💭 Their structures turned out great and everyone was able to meet the coding criteria for passing over the gap! 🙌 #LearningInThe252

Kindergartners recently went on a field trip to Oxbow Park Zoo in Byron. 🐵🐢🦁🐧 They got to see over 30 species of wild animals native to Minnesota and got to attend an “Animal Introductions” class. Third graders enjoyed their hands-on project building birdhouses along with parent volunteers. 🐦🪶🪺 This annual activity is a math for life project that has become a 3rd grade tradition for over thirty years. Students in grades 3-5 participated in a Reading Challenge from January to May. 📚✨ Every student who read 10 books entered a drawing to win a prize. Prizes were donated by the Cannon Falls Education Foundation and included things you might use while reading, such as a hammock, squishmallow, blanket, pillow, reading light and stress ball. The 6th grade STEM class has just wrapped up independent investigations in the school forest. 🧐🌲🍄 Students were conducting investigations on pond organisms, animal signs, wild edible plants, tree identification, food preferences of animals, and bird observations. Many discoveries were made by all teams, but a new find this year was the first recorded sighting of a solitary sandpiper by the pond! 🤩 #LearningInThe252

A group of K-12 students had the opportunity to attend an adapted field day at Zumbrota-Mazeppa high school this week. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ They had the chance to participate in a variety of Track & Field events (50m, 100m and 200m sprints, hurdles, long jump, throwing and kicking activities) and competed against students from multiple different schools!
